David Rutland
Chair & Director

David Rutland was elected to the Chair of Red NZ at the 2012 AGM. David brings a diverse skill set to the board, having worked in construction for 9 years before moving into psycho-social & crisis management. David worked in Logistics at Auckland Civil Defence and Emergency Management during the February 2011 Christchurch Earthquake, and is now a Major Events Facilitator in Auckland. Previously David has worked in brief development programs in India, Malaysia and Thailand.

Jeremy Holman

Vice Chair

Jeremy is a former Army Officer with significant post conflict/disaster experience.  He was invested as a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2007 for delivering strategic level utilities infrastructure projects around the globe, often in hot, dusty and dangerous locations.  In 2008 he was awarded a Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service for initiating and leading the reconstruction and development programme in Southern Afghanistan.   He is a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Environmentalist, completed an MBA in 2007 and is the General Manager Water for one of New Zealand’s largest construction, operation and maintenance contractors.

Blaire is a humanities graduate who has completed both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, with a focus on International Diplomacy. She has wide ranging administrative experience, within both the public and private sectors, and is currently working in governance. Blaire has previously been heavily involved in St. John Youth, and received a Grand Priors award in 2007..

 John Titmus

John Titmus
John joined the Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management in 1985 after a long career in the Royal New Zealand Navy. He is now the Northern Regional Coordinator, based out of Auckland, with prime responsibility for supporting the four northen Civil Defence Emergency Management Groups.

John is also the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) and Asia Pacific Humanitarian Partnership (APHP) focal point for New Zealand. As such, he is responsible for the preparedness of NZ UNDAC and APHP team members for 24/7 deployment to global emergencies.

John was awarded the New Zealand Special Service Medal (Asian Tsunami) in 2005 as a result of his work in Sri Lanka after the Boxing Day Tsunami.

 Garrik Perry

Treasurer

Garrik has just completed his Master of Arts in Political Studies where he looked at the issue of Human trafficking within the South Pacific, which allowed travel to Papua New Guinea for research in 2011. He has been volunteering for RedR NZ since early 2012, providing support to the Chair and Secretary and has a background in information systems.
